Kyriakos MoisidisKyriakos Moisidis was born in 1968 in Prohoma, Thessaloniki, and studied Business Administration at the University of Macedonia and Physical Education and Athletics with a major in traditional Greek dance at the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki. Kyriakos has been studying traditional dances for 20 years and teaching for the past 15 years. Currently he is teaching five dance groups throughout Thessaloniki (including G.K. Fotiadis) and teaches at many seminars throughout Greece and abroad. This year, Kyriako organized his fifth annual 10-day seminar in Greece, which continues with great success.
Kostas MitsisKostas was born in 1975, Munich Germany, in 1976 he moved to Greece in the area of Preveza, Epiros, where his parents have their roots. Kostas grew up in a farm life environment with the customs of traditional farm family life, where traditional dance and music were holding significant place in his every day life. He studied Land Surveying in the “Aristotelio” University of Thessaloniki, and at this moment he is doing graduate studies at the University of Ioannina.
Kostas speaks three languages, Greek, English and German. From 1982 he has been a member of the folk dancing groups of the Preveza area, in addition to other areas in dance and seminars in the subject of Cultural studies.
From 1997 he has been teaching traditional folk dancing in many folk dancing schools of the area. In 2000 Kostas started doing research in the areas of Epiros, Preveza, Syrrakou, Souliou and Metsovou. In parallel he is doing research in the area of Grevena and the refugees from Asia Minor. Kostas has conducted seminars of traditional folk dancing in 2005 and 2006. In 2002 he created a festival in Preveza for local TV channel and provided the basic rules for the Greek folk traditions. He is also occupied with traditional folk singing in the Greek, Vlahiki, Albanian, Turkish languages. In March 2007, he will be one of the main organizers in the Festival for the “Greek Folk Culture” which will take place in the Olympic Stadium of “Peace and Friendship” in Pireas.
